JOB SUMMARY

Accountable for overseeing all aspects of manufacturing facility's daily priorities' planning and scheduling. Develops and manages forecasts for long-range material planning in collaboration with sales and operations, taking into account existing inventory, obsolescence, lead times, product life cycles, and production capacity.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

· Analyze inventory levels and product demands to determine reorder levels and safety stocks that will ensure availability of product and minimize inventory cost.

· Drive promote and develop positive communication with Sales to improve forecast accuracy.

· Plan and coordinate the materials needed to introduce new products, including a BOM evaluation.

· Analyze the effects of customer sales prospects that may have an impact on product demand during the course of the plan on the availability of materials and the production schedule. .

· Reviews and plans requirements for acceptable inventory (increase/decrease Capital Equipment.)

· Ensures that inventory items match the production plan and aligns with build plan.

· Interface/communicate with shop and continually monitor for immediate part shortages.

· Prioritize Receiving Inspection to ensure shop floor and Sales Order part requirements are fulfilled.

· In order to speed up overdue or impending orders, communicate with shipping coordinators and engage with the team to run customer backlog reports.

· Participate in all production meetings with a working understanding of the progress of delivered parts.

· Expedite Buyer and/or Vendor on part requirements.

· Work with Buyers to acquire the working knowledge to create and maintain parts shortage lists for all current orders reviewed in the weekly production meetings.

· Comply with and participate in company quality and safety programs and initiatives.

· Work closely with project managers to ensure that internal and external productions are completed on time and at the required quality.

· Other duties may be assigned.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS/SKILLS

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

Bachelor's degree or a minimum of four years of relevant experience in production planning and manufacturing engineering in an assembly or manufacturing environment

Knowledge of MRP and production planning concepts

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to other Employees and at meetings.

REASONING ABILITY

Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of situations and ability to interpret instructions furnished in written, oral, or schedule form.

COMPUTER SKILLS

To perform this job successfully, an individual should have good working knowledge of Manufacturing/Inventory software, spreadsheet software, and word processing software.
