Job Description

We are currently recruiting a Railway Electrification Lead for Europe GDC, with proven and solid experience in the international market. This unique and exciting position offers the opportunity to work in a developing practice with great growth opportunities, working in collaboration with other multiple AECOM offices and Global Design Centres, as part of the Enterprise Capabilities vision for Rail. The Rail System team will provide assessment, concept, feasibility, preliminary and detailed designs on a wide range of Rail and Transit Projects, throughout the USA, Australia, Canada or the Middle East among other regions. You may have the opportunity to work on some of the most iconic Transportation projects being part of a diverse and multicultural team. This is a key role within the Europe Global Delivery Center (Poland/Spain) and will report to the Rail Systems Engineering Manager within Europe GDC.

The responsibilities of this role include:

Leads a Railway Electrification team across different locations.

Makes day-to-day decisions for a technical team, integrating resources from different EC offices (Poland, Spain, India…).

Participates in strategic planning efforts to expand the rail electrification team, with a special focus on growing technical excellence.

Coordinates and provides technical expertise for mid-large size OLE/OHLE/OCS projects.

Performs quality control reviews and checks/verifies work developed by others.

Provides estimates/quantity take-offs for the engineering cost and schedule build-up to meet requirements on large, complex projects.

Trains, mentors and evaluates less experienced staff (within the Europe GDC or other Delivery Centres).

Qualifications

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

Proven track record of working on rail electrification design (+12 years).

OLE design experience in the UK for Network Rail.

Detailed knowledge of different electrification systems, such as 25kV AC, 1500V DC, for rail & transit

Experience as OLE project design manager and/or OLE design team leader.

Appreciate Earthing and Bonding complexity and the Interaction of OLE/OHLE/OCS with other disciplines in a rail environment such as Signalling, Track & Civil, Geotech, Structures, CSR, and Traction Power.

Understand traction power and the intimate relationship between traction power and OLE/OHLE/OCS.

Have BIM / Digital Engineering techniques design experience.

Experience with relevant international regulations and standards, especially European and Network Rail standards.

ADDITIONAL EXPERIENCE:

Experience as CRE/CEM (Network Rail) will be considered favourably.

Design experience in Traction Power (TPS) will be considered favourably.

Have a proactive approach to bringing innovation into the industry will be considered favourably.

QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelor or Master degree in Engineering (Electrical, Mechanical or Railways).

US (P.E), Australian (RPEng), Canadian (P. Eng) or UK (CEng) Professional/Chartered Engineer license will be considered favourably.
