We are currently recruiting for a Ground and Tunnelling Junior Engineer. Numerical Models Specialist to join our ambitious and experienced team. We are working on stages as early as feasibility studies up to detailed designs on a wide range of projects. Our clients are from the private and public sector and include long term Framework Agreements with numerous Local Authorities together with Design and Build commissions for many major Contractors. Our office has an established track record of successfully delivering designs for many years, throughout the USA and Australia not to mention Canada or Middle East. You may have the opportunity to work on some of the most iconic Transportation, Water and Mining Projects, being part of a diverse and multicultural team for the EC Europe (Poland/Spain).

The responsibilities of this role include:

• Works as part of a ground and tunnelling engineering team with other engineers at the same functional level that can be from different EC offices (Poland, Spain, South Africa, etc). Undertakes non-routine, medium complex projects supported by EC.

• Works in numerical modelling for ground engineering and tunnelling services using specific software (FLAC3D / MIDAS GTS / PLAXIS, etc) and programming languages when required.

• Active participation in digitalization processes as well as in the development or start up of new specific tools for the team.

• Work is accomplished autonomously on small projects or portions of larger projects supported by EC within established procedures and practices, related to ground and tunnelling engineering

• Performs a self-check of work products prior to submitting to others and participates in quality control reviews of documentation originated by equally or less experienced staff.

• Prepares project deliverables that are reviewed by senior team members.

• Provides guidance to entry level engineers.

Minimum Requirements

• Proven track record of working on ground and tunneling engineering designs and collaborating with international and multi-cultural teams (+4 years) for Transportation and Water Projects.

• Experience with international regulations and standards.

• Skilled in using various software packages for analysis and design such as PLAXIS (2D/3D), FLAC (2D/3D), MIDAS GTS NX or Rocscience package, etc.

• Skills on computer programming (Python, Fish, MATLAB, etc..) will be considered favorably.

• Experience working in the North America region / Australia will be considered favorably.

• Fluent in English (oral and written).

Qualifications

• Bachelor or Master degree in Civil or Mining Engineering

• US and/or Australia Professional Engineer license will be considered favorably.
