Job Data Job Title: Finance Assistant Job Code: Salary Grade: P1 Job Group: Finance Job Family: Accounting Level: Location: Madrid, Spain Reports to: Financial Controller FLSA (US only): Job Summary This role will play a key, hands-on role in helping to ensure timely and accurate financial reporting, throughout the Iberia region, by providing accurate accounting activities and assisting with the maintenance of a secure and robust internal control environment. This role demands an extraordinary customer focus as well, treating with them on a daily basis. Essential Functions * Assist with daily basis accounting and month end closing. * Ensure customer credit collection. * Research and resolve invoice discrepancies and issues with customers by phone or/and by email. * Review and verify invoices and checks requests. * Cash Management. Preparation, sending and accounting customer receipts batches and supplier payments. * Monitor accounts receivable and other GL accounts. Aging report analysis. * Sort, code, and book vendor invoices. * Enter and upload invoices into system. Set invoices up for payment. * Monitor expense reports GL accounts. Track expenses and process expense reports. * Prepare and process electronic transfers and payments. Monitor accounts to ensure payments are up to date. * Prepare and register accruals, taxes and depreciation journals. * Post transactions to journals, ledgers and other records. * Prepare bank and balance sheet reconciliations. * Prepare analysis of accounts. * Provide supporting documentation for audits. * Prepare, maintain and organize accounting files. * Coordinate with the local controller to ensure consistent application of SOX controls and all CVI accounting policies. * Prepare support documentation for Finance SOX purposes. * Other administrative tasks. Qualifications Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: * Person methodical, organized, efficient, and proactive. * Team player. * Ability to meet deadlines. * Strong organizational and prioritizing skills. * Attention to detail and accuracy. * Problem solving skills. * Data Entry Management. * Knowledge of general accounting procedures. Work Environment: * This role is based at Madrid office, in a normal office environment. * Must be prepared to work extended hours on occasion. Experience: * Experience in a European subsidiary of a US multi-national (preferred) * Experience of a matrix style organization Education: * At least 5 years general accounting experience. * Native Spanish, written English would be a plus.
