We are currently recruiting a Principal Design Manager with solid experience in Roads and Infrastructure design and team leading, to join our busy and expanding experienced team, with special focus on US, Canada and ANZ markets. The team provides assessment, concept, feasibility, preliminary and detailed designs on a wide range of Roads and Infrastructure Projects across the globe. Our internal clients work for private and public sector and include long term Framework Agreements with numerous Local Authorities together with Design and Build commissions for many major Contractors. Our group has an established track record of successfully delivering highways design for many years, throughout the USA and Australia, not to mention Canada or Middle East. You may have the opportunity to work on some of the most iconic Transportation projects, being part of a diverse and multicultural team. The responsibilities of this role include:

The responsibilities of this role include:

  • Works with EC leadership to prepare proposals and do assessment of multidisciplinary packages of work susceptible of being delivered by EC group.

  • Categorizes packages of work, elaborates project execution plans and in combination with Home Office, defines the delivery strategy, including composition of design teams across different disciplines and locations.

  • Responsible for leading a design team working for internal clients, integrating resources from different EC offices (India, South Africa, Romania, etc.).

  • Accountable for the development of delivery methodologies which manage risk, maximise on opportunities for the in pursuit of delivering multi-disciplinary projects to budget and schedule for our clients.

  • Initiates and directs the planning, development, and continuous monitoring of the project scope, resources, procedures, budget and schedule for the packages of work allocated to the EC group.

  • Reviews project key performance indicators and forecasts any modifications to schedules, cost estimates, and financial reports, and effectively reconciles risks to commitments that may exceed assigned schedules and budgets.

  • Delivers effective communication inclusive of internal clients and team members to clarify expectations and requirements.

  • Performs quality control reviews of work developed by others. Approves and signs off on work.

  • Trains, mentors, and evaluates less experienced staff (within the EC Offices).

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements

  • Proven track record of technical work on Roadway design collaborating with international and multi-cultural teams (+15 years), combined with project management or design management experience (+5 years) on large international Roads and Infrastructures Projects.

  • Strong technical leadership of teams in the delivery of projects focused on delivering for the Client.

  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work within teams or in a wider collaboration.

  • Proven commitment with Quality Control Policy and Quality Management System.

  • Team management experience.

  • Experience working in the US, Canada and/or ANZ will be highly valuable.

  • Experience working with design teams located in different countries.

  • Fluent in English (oral and written).

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in civil engineering

  • US and/or Australia Professional Engineer license will be considered favorably.
