Baptist Health Systems Environmental Services Worker PRN in Madisonville, Kentucky

Job Description:Job Summary: Cleans and supplies patient rooms, wards, nursing stations, lounges, laboratories, bathrooms, offices and any other areas assigned in accordance with standard procedures of the Housekeeping Department and with the facility's objectives. Uses cleaning devices including 16 oz. wet mops, small wringers, dusters, commercial type vacuum cleaners, and other necessary tools, products, and supplies. Must be able to lift a minimum of 30 pounds.Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned. 1. Position requires for each individual to be able to interpret a MSDS ( Material Safety Data Sheet ) 2. Annually must comply with having a TB Skin test conducted. 3. Attends Customer Service in-services as scheduled. 4. Complies with departmental and Baptist Health policies/procedures. 5. Performs cleaning procedures daily in all office and ancillary areas as assigned schedule dictates. 6. Operates equipment in a safe and productive manner. 7. Maintains areas of responsibility at a 90% rating. 8. Cleans and polishes equipment at the end of each shift. 9. Chemicals are mixed correctly and are only used on the approved surfaces for each chemical. 10. Will use Personal Protective Equipment as instructed. 11. Attends all required safety training programs and can describe his/her responsibilities related to general safety, department/service safety, specific job related hazards, and national patient safety goals. 12. Complies with BHM Customer Service Guidelines Minimum Education, Experience, Training, and Licensures Required: Must be able to read and write in order to mix chemicals of either a hazardous or non-hazardous nature. After a 3 day training period, must be able to demonstrate the correct use of chemicals, supplies and tools as assigned. Must be 18 years of age.
