JOB REQUIREMENTS: Job Summary: The Veteran Services Coordinator is an important member of University Veteran Services (UVS), which provides services and support for nearly 2,000 military-connected students. The military-connected student community at UW-Madison is comprised of US military veterans, currently serving national guard and reservists, and their immediate family members. Military-connected students can be found across all levels of undergraduate, graduate, and professional education. UVS helps students transition to campus life and find success through administering and advising on education benefits, community building programs, and campus and community advocacy. UVS is part of Student Affairs\' Identity and Inclusion efforts and prioritizes supporting students to build a sense of belonging and flourish. The Veteran Services Coordinator supports all functions related to the military-connected student experience. This role works directly with students on important topics such as veteran/military education benefits and connections to resources to foster student success and belonging, as well as coordinating with other units across campus to support students. An ideal candidate will appreciate the importance of expanding their own knowledge and skills to meet the unique needs of military-connected students. The successful candidate will join a highly collaborative team of dedicated professionals. As a member of a team, the Veteran Services Coordinator must be able to work both independently and collaboratively. This position will report to the Director of UVS. Certifying military-connected education benefits by following internal processes and procedures will be a central component of this role.
