It is an exciting time to come onboard as we are implementing a new comprehensive technology system. This position has varying degrees of responsibility for general accounting, budgeting, financial reporting and primary responsibility for payroll oversight and staff supervision which will be performed independently under the general supervision of the Transit Finance Manager. This position requires a high level of independence in completing assignments and supervising employees. The position is posted as a Transit Accountant 3 or 4. Transit Accountant 3 is the advanced project level of the Transit Accountant series with duties described in this posting. Transit Accountant 4 is the advanced program level of the Transit Accountant series and does the work of a Transit Accountant 3 with greater independence. In addition, this classification develops and supervises major Metro Transit accounting functions, and work is more developmental than administrative in nature.
