JOB REQUIREMENTS: Job Summary: The UW-Madison ECE Department is experiencing exciting growth in our undergraduate and graduate degree programs in programs that offer specializations in power and energy systems. These include the BS-EE degree, two industry-focused MS-ECE degrees (an online degree program in power engineering and a residential accelerated MS degree program with core tracks in electric machines/drives, power electronics, and power systems), and the traditional research-based MS and PhD degrees. To support this growth, we are seeking candidates for an associate teaching professor position with expertise in power engineering and energy systems, as documented by a strong record of research, development, and design experience in the power/energy systems industry and prior experience teaching courses in power and energy systems, such as power electronics, power conversion systems, and electric drive systems. The Teaching Professor track is a non-tenure track appointment that enables and recognizes a concentrated excellence in instruction. The individual in this position will contribute to the Electrical and Computer Engineering Department\'s educational mission at the undergraduate and graduate levels through their instructional leadership, teaching excellence, and educational innovation. The position includes an emphasis on support of residential and online degree programs that prepare our students to meet the technological demands of our rapidly changing world. The ECE Department\'s mission is to foster a diverse and inclusive community that advances the frontiers of engineering, disseminates discoveries and inventions, and prepares students to make the world a better place for all. Responsibilities: Designs and facilitates classroom, online, and/or laboratory instruction within an academic discipline to ensure quality delivery of instruction and integration of content within an academic work unit. Provides for-credit instruction in formats such as classroom, online and/or laboratory settings, including grading.
