JOB REQUIREMENTS: Specimen Control & Receiving Technician - Microbiology - 30174 DESCRIPTION/RESPONSIBILITIES: Work Schedule : This is a full-time, FTE 1.0, 1st shift position. Starting 6:00am - 7:00am and ending 2:30-3:30 pm. Weekends and holidays as needed. Hours may vary based on department needs. Pay : * External hires may be eligible for up to a \$2,500 sign on bonus. We are seeking a Specimen Control and Receiving Tech - Microbiology to: * Receive specimens and research kits into the laboratory, check for correct labeling, enter tests into Laboratory Information System, process specimens, and load them onto instruments or direct to appropriate work station, technologist, or storage area. * Basic instrument maintenance (temperatures, monitoring reagents) and clerical duties (filing, mailing, faxing). * Interact daily with pathologists, physicians, technologists, clinical staff, nursing unit personnel, and patients. Preferred - Some post-secondary education in a healthcare or a related science field that may include course work in Medical Laboratory Technician, Cytotechnologist, Histotechnician or Medical Laboratory Scientist degree/certification.
