TEKsystems SharePoint Administrator in Madison, Wisconsin

Description:

The Enterprise SharePoint Administrator is responsible for the research, development, support, and management of the on-premises Enterprise SharePoint Farm server infrastructure and the Enterprise O365 SharePoint online environment. This role is part of the Collaboration Services team and includes a standby rotation providing 24x7x365 support for various applications.

Key Responsibilities:

A. Technical Support and Management:

  • Research, install, test, implement, and troubleshoot Enterprise SharePoint 2016, O365 SharePoint Online, and Hybrid SharePoint environments.

  • Install, configure, and administer third-party tools such as Bluebeam, DocAve, Control Point, Sharegate, Nintex, Plumsail, and Muhimbi.

  • Maintain systems and infrastructure to support these environments, ensuring stability and resolving issues.

  • Perform tasks necessary for maintaining the SharePoint Farm, including configuring App Catalog, App Management, Workflow Farm, Office Web App (OWA) Farm, and more.

  • Lead and participate in the development and implementation of IT management best practices.

  • Apply Windows patches and SharePoint updates to maintain server stability and security.

  • Monitor SQL Cluster performance.

  • Write PowerShell scripts for reporting and task automation.

  • Monitor and report on SharePoint system performance.

  • Manage and audit security for SharePoint farm, web applications, sites, and sub-sites.

  • Generate monthly billing and audit reports.

  • Lead Governance and Customer Advisory Group meetings.

  • Keep SharePoint configuration and architecture documents updated.

  • Research software and hardware enhancements to improve SharePoint performance.

B. Shared Infrastructure Consulting:

  • Lead meetings to understand requirements related to enterprise shared IT infrastructure.

  • Evaluate and recommend solutions for data communication needs.

  • Provide technical analysis and advice for planning changes to enterprise shared IT infrastructure.

  • Develop detailed technical designs for service requests.

  • Participate in enterprise task forces or committees.

  • Facilitate meetings to understand disaster recovery requirements and recommend solutions.

C. Customer Service and Teamwork:

  • Deliver high-quality customer service and assist team members in doing the same.

  • Work cooperatively in a team environment to meet service expectations.

  • Provide clear written and verbal communication to customers and staff.

  • Develop and maintain good working relationships with colleagues and customers.

D. Project Participation:

  • Develop and use project management policies, procedures, and practices.

  • Lead project teams to follow enterprise information portfolio management practices.

  • Coordinate project support tasks with other staff.

  • Lead project teams under the direction of a project manager.

  • Work with security to develop and implement sound security practices and policies.

E. IT Service Management:

  • Participate in the development and implementation of IT service management best practices.

  • Seek input from agency partners and encourage cooperation in enterprise objectives.

  • Oversee and lead disaster recovery documentation and testing.

  • Follow all published IT management policies and best practices.

F. Professional Development:

  • Stay updated on trends in infrastructure hardware, software, and related technologies.

  • Attend training courses, conferences, and seminars.

  • Read technical publications to maintain a high level of technical knowledge.

  • Lead activities in professional and technical associations.

  • Perform other assigned tasks as needed.
