At Pega, Enterprise Architects are looked to as thought leaders and trusted advisors by our customers as well as our presales team. An EA is a regionally aligned customer-facing business and technology expert with broad and deep industry knowledge with exceptional business acumen. EAs are subject matter experts in one or more categories that may include: business strategy & architecture, application/platform/technical architecture, data & integration, security, cloud computing, mobile, and analytics.

The primary objective of our EAs is to understand customer’s business strategy, goals and objectives, internalize their business capabilities to meet those very objectives and identify gaps to help our customers get a clear understanding of their current state. Our EAs then work with our customers to build a future state with the clear milestones to get to their target state. Pega EAs also lead and support the execution of Digital Transformation Engagements for strategic and key customers jointly with the solution consulting team members.

What You'll Do at Pega:

  • The Enterprise Architect works closely with their regionally aligned account teams (Sales, pre-sales, professional services) to understand customer strategy & requirements and help define the solution portfolio and enterprise architecture strategy.

  • The Enterprise Architect works closely with the presales team to dive deeper from a single solution approach to an enterprise-wide approach.

  • The Enterprise Architect works with executive-level contacts to unlock new potential streams of business value by providing insight regarding enterprise transformation agendas and articulate design considerations, trade-offs, benefits, and recommendations for a technical architecture

  • The Enterprise Architect works towards bridging the gap between the business strategy & technology enablers and drive value-based solutions and architecture strategy.

  • The Enterprise Architect presents strategic business requirements and current solution landscape to business as well as technical stakeholders and demonstrate how Pega can be a strategic and long-term partner in their digital transformation journey

Who You Are:

  • A trusted advisor to CIO/CTO/EA level contacts and their teams as they look to accelerate their Digital Transformation.

  • You have enterprise mindset and can help craft the future state architecture and "tell a story" as to how to get there.

  • You are proficient building customer facing Architecture presentations, diagrams, and whitepapers.

  • You possess strong presentation and communication skills and communicate complex technical concepts to a non-technical audience.

  • You have an entrepreneurial, creative and Challenger mindset with a passion for ensuring customer success.

  • You have previous experience working in a customer facing Enterprise Architecture role within large organizations.

  • You have a broad understanding across various business domains and maintain a broad working knowledge of many technology areas.

  • You can proactively develop customer relationships by listening, understanding and anticipating, and then providing solutions to customer needs.

  • You are a strong leader capable of representing Pega on governance boards, technical and business design authorities

What You've Accomplished:

  • BS/BA degree, preferably in Computer Science/Information Systems

  • 12+ years of experience, including 2+ years of Enterprise Architectural experience

  • Expert understanding of the software industry and varying technologies used in it

  • Thorough knowledge of technology tools, languages and programs (e.g., Mainframes, Client/server, Distributing Computing, Middleware, Web-based Technologies, Development Tools and Platforms, SDLC, latest Cloud architectures such as AWS, Google, Azure, etc.), IoT, robotic automation, biometrics, artificial intelligence, machine learning, big data, web-technologies, content management systems (CMS), virtual environments (VMs), containerization (Docker & Kubernetes), and principles of modern platforms including SaaS, PaaS, multi-tenancy, etc.

  • Leadership skills in meeting planning and execution. Driving sales cycles and do what is necessary to “Own the Architecture” during the selling motion of our branded PEGA Transcend Engagements.

  • EA or BA certifications like TOGAF are a strong plus

  • Ability to proactively develop customer relationships by listening to, understanding and anticipating, and providing solutions to customer needs

  • Ability to use a clearly defined methodology for establishing priorities and the engagement with local sales teams, partners and the customer.
