JOB REQUIREMENTS: Job Summary: If you love helping animals, this is the right place for you! UW Veterinary Care (UWVC) is seeking a skilled radiologic technologist to assist in essential patient diagnostic imaging procedures. Operate general stationary and portable x-ray equipment. Assist with procedures including patient care, equipment settings, and equipment troubleshooting. Perform cross sectional imaging such as CT and/or MRI. Perform x-rays on large, small, and exotic patients Responsibilities: Under general supervision, takes images of various portions of the body by operating stationary and portable x-ray equipment, MRI equipment, and other radiologic equipment according to established standards and regulations. 30% Performs radiologic procedures as assigned adhering to prescribed techniques 30% Follows prescribed techniques in administering general and specific x-rays, magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), or other radiologic scanning procedures. Adjusts equipment, determines proper voltage, current and desired exposure time, arranges immobilization and support devices to obtain position of patient/participant, adjusts lead shields to protect unaffected parts of the patient\'s/participant\'s body, adjusts cone to direct concentration of rays on specific area, and selects proper film 5% Prepares, assesses, and observes patient/participant for procedures and possible reactions or outcomes 5% Transports patients/participants within department, to and from waiting area, as required 5% Processes images, film, and/or other scanning documentation in accordance to guidelines and photographic technique.
