JOB REQUIREMENTS: Program Instructor - Ophthalmic Assistant Apprenticeship - 30165 DESCRIPTION/RESPONSIBILITIES: Work Schedule : This is a full-time, 1.0 FTE day shift position. Shifts are scheduled Monday - Friday between the hours of 8:00AM - 5:00PM, no weekends required. Hours may vary based on the operational needs of the department. We are seeking a Program Instructor for our Ophthalmic Assistant Apprenticeship Program to: * Oversee and facilitate clinical and didactic education for registered apprentices. * Ensure the program is developed and updated as needed to ensure compliance with the regulations set forth by the International Joint Commission on Allied Health Personnel in Ophthalmology. * Prepare students to be eligible to take the National Certification Examination for Certified Ophthalmic Assistant (COA). * Ensure that course and clinical laboratory exercises meet course objectives. * Motivate and inspire students. Preferred - Completion of an accredited Ophthalmic/Optometric program and an Associate degree in science, healthcare, education, or other related field. Work Experience : Minimum - Five (5) years of experience as Certified Ophthalmic Assistant (COA) Preferred - Ten (10) years of experience and experience as a Certified Ophthalmic Technician COT, prior teaching experience or prior supervisory or coordinator experience.
