JOB REQUIREMENTS: General Description This is skilled mechanical work in the repair and maintenance of Parks equipment (e.g., tractors, mowers, rollers, blowers, chainsaws, string trimmers, etc.). Work is characterized by a high degree of independence in the operation of an equipment repair shop. Under the limited supervision of a higher-level Parks supervisor/operational lead worker, employees in this class maintain the maintenance of a parts inventory and related service records and oversee periodic maintenance by operators. Employees in this position also supervise, train, and direct the work of lower-level employees. Work is evaluated periodically in terms of compliance with maintenance objectives and safety regulations. ***** OTHER EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS: Minimum Qualifications Two (2) years of skilled experience in the maintenance and repair of a variety of specialized gas and diesel equipment used in grounds maintenance work (e.g., mowers, blowers, sweepers, etc.) -OR- Two (2) years of work experience applying the following: Principles and practices of mechanical repair and maintenance applicable to parks fleet equipment (to include gas, diesel and small engine repair) Specialized parks equipment to include mowers, blowers, pumps, sweepers, etc. Electrical and hydraulic maintenance and repair principles relative to parks equipment ***** APPLICATION INSTRUCTIONS: Apply Online: www.cityofmadison.com/jobs
