JOB REQUIREMENTS: Job Summary: Under the general supervision of the Director of the Information School (iSchool), teach one or more of the following courses in an online format during the 2023-24 summer semester: LIS 613: User Experience Design 3 May 20 - August 24, 2024 LIS 614 User Experience Design Capstone May 20 - August 24, 2024 LIS 640 Topics in Library and Information Studies: Linked Data May 27 - June 16, 2024 Principal duties for all courses: Duties include adaption of a pre-prepared syllabus in consultation with iSchool staff, adaption of a prepared set of asynchronous lectures, creation of new materials in consultation with iSchool staff, fielding and grading of prepared assignments and examinations, holding synchronous office hours and consulting with students via email, Skype, or by other means. Responsibilities: Facilitates classroom, online, and/or laboratory instruction and assists with instructional development and design for a single course or series of courses within an academic discipline to support the delivery of quality instruction. Provides for-credit instruction in formats such as classroom, online and/or laboratory settings, including grading. Serves as an instructor of record. 80% Facilitates classroom, online and/or laboratory instruction for one or more courses, including assessment of student performance 10% Develops instructional design and curriculum relevant to a course of instruction 10% Serves as an initial point of contact for students as it relates to specific course or series content and expectations Institutional Statement on Diversity: Diversity is a source of strength, creativity, and innovation for UW-Madison.
