Position Overview The Lead Barista serves as a role model to their teammates and will take on a significant responsibility for training team members. This role will fulfill all aspects of Revive Cafe in accordance with the vision and mission of Exact Sciences. The Lead Barista will do so by not only educating team members, but also customers by presenting and explaining the drink menu, answering questions, and providing superior customer service. Essential Duties Include, but are not limited to, the following: Follow Exact Sciences standards for beverage/food quality, preparation, recipes, and presentation. Collaborate with leaders and team baristas to give the best customer service and speed of service processes possible. Prepare and sell coffee/tea drinks by following prescribed recipes and preparation techniques for coffee drinks, such as, expresso, latte, and cappuccino, matcha, etc. Perform portion control and minimize waste to keep costs within forecasted range. Maintain a clean, safe, and healthy work environment by following organization standards and sanitation regulations. Enhance Revive Cafe by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests; exploring opportunities to add value. Provide and lead trainings to colleagues on job related topics to include, but not limited to, mechanics of equipment, maintenance, beverage construction, time, temperature, and waste processes. Lead station specific tasks and have an introduction in beverage recipe writing. Offer positive and/or constructive feedback to team members on the quality and consistency of drink preparation, food preparation, cleanliness, professionalism, and customer service. Mentor and provide indirect leadership to Revive Cafe staff. Comply with sanitation/safety standards within Food services and ensure all cafe personnel follow safety/sanitation standards.
