JOB REQUIREMENTS: Job Summary: The FoodWIse Nutrition Educator position will serve Manitowoc, Door, and Kewaunee Counties. This role is housed in the Health & Well-Being Institute (https://extension.wisc.edu/health/) within UW-Madison\'s Division of Extension (https://extension.wisc.edu/). The Health & Well-Being Institute works to catalyze positive change in Wisconsin residents through evidence-based and community-engaged health promotion programs to improve health, build community capacity to identify and address health inequities, engage in collective action, and achieve greater health equity. The FoodWIse program (https://healthyliving.extension.wisc.edu/programs/foodwise/) advances healthy eating habits, active lifestyles, and healthy community environments for families with limited incomes through nutrition education at the individual, community, and systems levels. FoodWIse is federally funded by the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program-Education (SNAP-Ed) and Expanded Food and Nutrition Program (EFNEP) grants. The Nutrition Educator is a member of the Manitowoc/Door/Kewaunee Counties FoodWIse team. Nutrition Educators are peer educators who co-learn with community members and adapt teaching to honor cultures and experiences. Nutrition Educators engage people from the diverse communities of Wisconsin to adopt healthy food and physical activity habits. A bilingual title designation and unique responsibility will be added to the final position description if the final candidate passes the language proficiency assessment.
