UW-SYSTEM-CENTRAL ADMINISTRATION DIRECTOR OF DEVELOPMENT in MADISON, Wisconsin

JOB REQUIREMENTS: Job ID: 20601 POSITION SUMMARY Wisconsin Humanities, an independent nonprofit organization affiliated with the National Endowment for the Humanities and University of Wisconsin System Administration, seeks an individual to spearhead development efforts for Wisconsin Humanities. In this new full-time position, the successful candidate will be responsible for planning, implementing, and managing a comprehensive fund development program that includes individual giving, major gifts, corporate and foundation giving, and planned giving. The Director of Development will report to the Executive Director (ED) and work closely with the ED and the Board of Directors to develop fundraising goals and strategies and monitor progress toward an annual goal. MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES - Work closely with the Executive Director and Board Development Committee to develop fundraising strategies and goals. - Develop and execute a comprehensive annual fund development plan to meet the organization\'s fundraising goals. - Identify and cultivate major gift prospects, as well as corporate and foundation donors. - Plan and execute special initiatives and events as appropriate (virtual, in-person, marketing) that engage donors and raise funds for the organization. - Collaborate with communications staff to develop and execute effective donor communications and marketing materials. - Manage donor database, data entry, reporting, gift processing and acknowledgements. - Develop and maintain existing relationships with major donors and legacy donors. - Create and execute a strategy to engage a sustained base of annual individual donors. - Develop and track proposals and reports for all foundation and corporate fundraising. - Monitor fundraising data to evaluate performance and adjust strategies as needed. WORK LOCATION A hybrid or telecommuting work schedule may be available. Preference will be given to Wisconsin residents. Travel may be occasionally required.
