Amentum DBA Claims Specialist in Madison, Wisconsin

DBA Claims Specialist

Performs claims handling functions to include receiving, logging, and filing incoming documents and notifications and maintaining copious records of all documents, correspondences, and receipts. Works collaboratively with DBA Claims Manager, Occupational Health, internal HR and Legal departments. US Citizenship is required to apply.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS and RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Directly supports DBA Claims Manager

  • Inputs and reviews notes/diaries in claims management system as instructed

  • Works collaboratively with adjusters for complicated or unusual claims

  • Participates in claims investigations

  • Prepares, creates, and/or sends letters, reports, and forms

  • Supports the organization's Injury and Claims Management programs

  • Obtains information for adjusters as needed

  • Participates in claims reviews as needed

  • Communicates with insurance partners

  • Records and maintains insurance policy and claims information in a database system

  • Develops claims strategy and action plans in conjunction with counsel, TPA’s, and insurance companies

  • Works closely with TPA partners to drive continuous improvement while supporting simplicity, efficiency, and cost containment

  • Partners with and direct external vendors and partners on innovative claims handling and initiatives that support simplicity and contain costs while enhancing the customer experience

  • Performs other projects or position-related duties as assigned

Claims Specialist Requirements:

  • 3-5 years of Workers Compensation claims management experience (DBA preferred)

  • Bachelor's degree in an associated discipline. Two (2) years of experience in a related field may be substituted for each year of the four (4) years of college.

  • Good administrative and organizational skills

  • Strong customer service skills

  • Proficient Knowledge of how to use Microsoft Excel, Work, PowerPoint, etc.

  • Good oral and written communication skills

  • Ability to learn software programs and system processes with ease

  • Salesforce or Risk Management Systems knowledge is preferred

  • US Citizenship is required.
