JOB REQUIREMENTS: Clinical Nurse Specialist East Madison Hospital Medical/Surgical 4th Floor - 30872 DESCRIPTION/RESPONSIBILITIES: Description: Work Schedule : This is an 100% FTE salaried position. Hours may vary based on the needs of the department. The scheduled shifts are primarily weekday shifts with some off shifts/weekends. We are seeking a Registered Nurse to: * Partner with our East Madison Hospital (EMH) Clinical Nurse Specialist (CNS) team to provide clinical expertise and support to nursing staff at East Madison Hospital, with a focus on medical and surgical nursing for the general care adult population. * Areas of inpatient support include EMH Medical/Surgical 4th Floor Unit as well as supporting future expansion within EMH. * The patient population on this floor includes both medical and surgical patients. High volume elective surgical admissions will be orthopedic patients, including joint replacement, spine surgery, and both upper extremity and lower extremity procedures. A smaller volume of the elective surgical patients will come from Neurosurgery spine, Urology, General Surgery, Endocrine, and Bariatrics. In addition to the surgical population, nurses will care for a variety of medical patients including those with pneumonia, sepsis, COPD, CHF and other acute and chronic medical conditions. * Support nursing practice in a beautiful new physical environment with state of the art technology and the opportunity to build a broad nursing foundation that will expand nursing skills beyond that of a single specialty area of nursing. EMH 4 th floor is a fast-paced, team-oriented environment. * Implement customized evidence-based advanced nursing interventions, including the provision of direct care, to improve nurse-sensitive outcomes. * Act as a clinical expert for specific clinical populations; three or more years of inpatient medical/surgical or general care experience is strongly preferred. Current CPR/BLS Certification Preferred - CNS certification.
