Job Summary:

The BIM Lead works with Building Information Modeling (BIM) and other software packages and technologies. The Technician works with high level design members, Project Managers, and jobsite Foremen to develop both 2D and 3D drawings for Construction layout, to create documents that help with productivity on the jobsite, to help our team use and visualize construction documents in a more productive and easier to understand way, and for cost estimating.

Essential Functions:

Develop Revit model families for general needs and project specific needs.

Produce shop drawings, submittal drawings, as-built drawings, and other documents as needed for the project.

Attend coordination meetings internally and externally on a project-to-project basis to assist in identifying and eliminating any potential issues as early in the process as possible.

Represent the company in a professional manner by attending BIM coordination and clash detection meetings. Work with the project team to coordinate the work, clear the clashes, and meet customers’ BIM requirements.

Assist with the coordination and management of electronic project files as required.

Use the software – Revit, MEP, Navisworks, MS Office, Bluebeam, Robotic Total Station Software – and related technology to:Model the project’s electrical systems components such as switchgear, conduit, cable tray, and lighting with the understanding of how these systems will be installed in the field.

Create installation drawings for our jobsite personnel.

Coordinate installation with other trades

Provide information to coworkers for sub-assembly and prefabrication.

Additional Skills & Qualifications:

5+ years of Revit experience

MEP experience vs. just working for an architect or engineer. want them to come from a contractor.

Need to understanding building layouts / able to read blueprints

Drive for results, positive attitude, task oriented, team player

Ok with working behind a desk 80-90% of the time and occasionally going out to job sites, interacting with customers

proven ability to work efficiently with high level of quality and retain information after taught.

Preferred: Experience working on the construction / contractor side vs. Engineering / consultant side

Electrical capabilities:

• need to know how electricity works in a commercial setting.

• understands basic wiring diagrams, basic NEC codes, electrical layouts

• how to draw conduit, circuit things in Revit, panel schedules, day to day layout of electrical drawings

Plus:

• if they can build electrical families that is a plus

• expert in Revit

• electrical knowledge

• associates degree in relatable field

• In Revit: understands families and knows how to design electrical diagrams / layouts in revit

forward thinking and always looking to advance skills and drive to be a part of process improvements

Able to multi task and get drawings done on time and within quality specs. Need to be able to manage one large project (size of a new school build) at any given time and take on small side projects as well with no issue.

*The lead has experience training / mentoring Junior staff. Can run a project on their own with little to no direction. Will be collaborating with BIM Manager.

Required Skills/Abilities:

• Adequate level of proficiency with Revit and Navisworks software

• Ability to bring new and innovative ideas to current processes and procedures.

• Internal drive and ambition to improve the team’s processes and efficiencies, and to develop his/her career within the company.

• Interpersonal skills that allow effective communication within the company and to outside vendors/contacts
