UW HOSPITAL & CLINICS Athletic Trainer -Physician Practice - in MADISON, Wisconsin
JOB REQUIREMENTS: Athletic Trainer -Physician Practice - 30097 DESCRIPTION/RESPONSIBILITIES: Work Schedule: 80% FTE, 32 hours/week. Day shifts scheduled between the hours of 7:30 AM 5:30 PM. We are seeking an Athletic Trainer for the physician practice setting to: * Perform initial patient assessment including medical history and physical examination. * Provide patient education on the diagnosis and treatment plan outlined by the attending physician. * Provide patient education including exercise instruction, demonstration and feedback, gait training, and wound care as directed by the attending physician. * Fit the patient with splints, crutches, braces, wraps, and other various durable medical equipment as directed by the attending physician. You will also educate the patient on the appropriate use of equipment. * Document clinic patient visit according to documentation policies. Preferred - Master\'s Degree in healthcare, athletic training, education or business. Work Experience: Preferred Three (3) years of experience as an Athletic Trainer in the applicable setting. Licenses and Certifications: Minimum * Certification by the National Athletic Trainers Association Board of Certification. * Licensure as an Athletic Trainer in the State of Wisconsin. UW Health may allow a one-month grace period to obtain license in extenuating circumstances.
