UW-SYSTEM-CENTRAL ADMINISTRATION ASSOCIATE STATE DIRECTOR in MADISON, Wisconsin

JOB REQUIREMENTS: Job ID: 20633 ASSOCIATE STATE DIRECTOR, WI SBDC POSITION SUMMARY This position works with the Wisconsin Small Business Development Center state director, the state leadership team, center directors and personnel to delivery high quality statewide services in support of SBDC customers: entrepreneurs, business owners, funders and stakeholders. This position reports directly to the Wisconsin SBDC network state director. MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES Primary Responsibilities (40%) - Hire and directly supervise state-based consultants. Work with the individual SBDC centers to integrate these consultants into regional service delivery - Oversee the onboarding process of newly hired employees in the network and provide guidance to new center directors - Design, manage and improve work processes involving the network\'s small business consulting operations, working with each center director to implement improvements - Work with the state director, state office management team and service center directors on the development of the statewide SBDC strategic plan and implementation of objectives - Develop, plan and supervise other SBDC statewide initiatives that are identified in the statewide strategic plan Encourage and support service center experimentation and pilot initiatives that are in alignment with statewide SBDC and SBA goals - Communicate regularly with SBDC and SBA offices and participate in SBDC events - Oversee SBDC statewide meetings and events, ensuring agendas represent the needs of the network WORK LOCATION The office location is 780 Regent Street in Madison, WI. Telecommuting or hybrid work options may be available, with an expectation to travel to Madison and throughout the state of Wisconsin as needed. Residency in/relocation to the state of Wisconsin is required. Telecommuting agreements are subject to change at any time.
