JOB REQUIREMENTS: Job Summary: The Department of Cell and Regenerative Biology (CRB) and the UW School of Medicine and Public Health (UWSMPH), in collaboration with the Center for Quantitative Cell Imaging (CQCI) in the office of the Vice Chancellor for Research (VCR), is recruiting a new faculty at the Assistant Professor level with research focused on developing and applying novel optical instrumentation and methods for cell imaging. This opportunity will allow the scientist to sustain and expand a highly collaborative basic science research program aimed at developing advanced multi-scale, multi-model cell imaging approaches. The highly supportive scholarly environment resides in state-of-the-art facilities at the CQCI and UWSMPH, which provides outstanding collaborative opportunities and exceptional resources, including advanced microscopy, flow cytometry, informatics, metabolomics, circulating biomarker, genome editing/animal models, pathology and small animal imaging among others. Responsibilities: The successful candidate will be expected to (1) direct and run an internationally-recognized research program developing and applying advanced imaging approaches for cell biology, (2) maintain strong extramural funding, (3) mentor students, and/or postdoctoral fellows, (4) participate in departmental and institutional teaching, (5) participate in faculty governance activities in the tenure home department, the school and/or University, and (6) participate in professional and/or university service. The candidate will also be expected to participate and collaborate with other faculty in CQCI and CRB. The successful applicant will participate in administrative and committee work to support the scholarly missions of the School of Medicine and Public Health.
