JOB REQUIREMENTS: Job Summary: The Department of Mechanical Engineering at the University of Wisconsin-Madison seeks outstanding applicants for a tenure-track position in the mechanics of advanced materials for electrochemical systems at all ranks (Assistant, Associate, and Full). This position is part of the RISE-EARTH Initiative. The applicants\' research should address societally impactful problems in sustainability and electrochemical systems through advances in the understanding and management of complex mechanical systems, the coupling of mechanical, chemical and transport physics, preventing material failure and degradation, and through the engineering of advanced energy materials. Ideal candidates will leverage intellectual, experimental, and computational assets across the University of Wisconsin-Madison, such as the Wisconsin Centers for Nanoscale Technology, Wisconsin Structures & Materials Testing Laboratory and the Center for High Throughput Computing. The Department of Mechanical Engineering advances the mission of the College of Engineering to foster a respectful, diverse, equitable and inclusive environment for all members of our community.
