JOB REQUIREMENTS: Job Summary: The Department of Biochemistry at the University of Wisconsin-Madison welcomes applications for faculty positions at the rank of Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor. Candidates of any rank with a Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree and a strong interest in advancing our understanding of any aspect of the molecular mechanisms that govern the healthspan--the length of time when an organism is free from disease and remains in a state of health--of living systems are invited to apply. The successful candidate will join a dynamic faculty with broad interests in the biochemical sciences. The Department has an exceptional scientific environment including national centers in cryo-ET and NMR, and facilities and expertise in cryo-EM, crystallography, biophysical instrumentation, imaging, and animal care. These departmental strengths are complemented by a UW-Madison ecosystem that boasts remarkable breadth in biological, chemical, medical, and engineering sciences as well as numerous excellent facilities for research including those specializing in mass spectrometry, high-throughput sequencing, and computation. In addition to establishing a creative, independent, and extramurally funded research program, faculty are expected provide a strong training environment for pre- and post-doctoral trainees, participate in our undergraduate biochemistry teaching program, and contribute to service in the Department, College, University, and beyond. The position is an academic (9-month) tenure-track (junior) or tenured (mid-career or senior) faculty position. It carries a commitment to the three important functions of instruction, research, and outreach, as well as professional and university service as appropriate to faculty rank.
