JOB REQUIREMENTS: The position of Application Development Engineering Specialist collaborates with others in the division to provide and maintain applications to meet business needs. Responsible for software design and development for complex and/or large-scale business solutions, providing technical guidance and leadership for specific applications. Perform various roles in the development of applications in any phase of the systems\' development life cycle. Take a lead role on projects providing guidance and technical leadership to project resources for a specific application(s). Provide technical guidance and leadership to less experienced technologists. Analyze system problems and recommend alternatives for resolution. Recommend opportunities to improve system effectiveness and efficiency. Work in a mainframe, client/server, business intelligence, and/or web environment for internally built applications or vendor packaged applications. Position requires a Bachelor\'s degree in Computer Science, Technology or related field. Additionally, position requires 5 years of progressive experience. Position requires: 5 years of progressive experience in application development and systems design; 5 years of experience in JAVA/J2EE utilizing Web Services technologies; 2 years of Guidewire Policy Center experience; 1 year of experience as a technical project lead utilizing Waterfall and Agile methodologies; And 2 years of experience in a Property & Casualty insurance environment supporting Policy Issuance systems using Guidewire Policy center. Position accepts a Master\'s degree in Computer Science, Technology or related field. Additionally, position requires 2 years of progressive experience. Position requires: 2 years of progressive experience in application development and systems design; 2 years of experience in JAVA/J2EE utilizing Web Services technologies; 2 years of Guidewire Policy Center experience; 1 year of experience as a technical project lead utilizing Waterfall and Agile methodologies; And 2 years of experience in a Property & Casualty insurance environment supporting Policy Issuance systems using Guidewire Policy center.
