JOB REQUIREMENTS: Job Summary: The Adaptive Technology (AT) Team at McBurney Disability Resource Center at the University of Wisconsin-Madison provides adaptive technology accommodations (alternative formats, notetaking, furniture, and other adaptive technologies) to eligible students with disabilities. This collaborative and supportive team consists of staff from a variety of professional backgrounds who continuously work to develop new processes and implement new tools to improve production, adapt to changes in education, and modernize access for students. This position will have responsibilities in alternative formats, furniture, and/or notetaking accommodations, with both behind-the-scenes and direct service work. As the Accessible Learning Technology Coordinator, you would be: - Establishing workflows to provide assistive/adaptive accommodations (alt formats, furniture, and notetaking), and converting print materials and other instructional materials from a variety of subject areas (from humanities to STEM/STEAM, and from undergrad to professional and graduate level) into accessible formats. - Monitoring requests and deadlines to make sure accommodations are delivered on-time. - Providing consultation for students to determine the most appropriate AT accommodations. - Conducting consultation and training for faculty/instructors to identify course materials, establish workflows for converting their materials, and encourage them to create accessible instructional materials where possible. - Maintaining and developing training materials for students with alternative formats accommodations, as well as resources for students, staff, and instructors for adaptive technology and creation of accessible content. - Supervising a team of student workers who are processing requests and converting materials. - Providing in-person/remote trainings for adaptive technology tools/request processes and general accommodations processes.
