JOB REQUIREMENTS: Job Summary: The Academic Program Specialist functions as a member of the Pathology Education team. The team is responsible for all support related to medical student, graduate, undergraduate and resident educational endeavors. The successful candidate will report to the Department Administrator with oversight from the Vice Chair for Education. The primary responsibilities of the position are to manage undergraduate student services and courses, oversee medical student and other rotators, support and schedule our CME certified grand rounds and other seminars and assist with our Cellular and Molecular Pathology graduate program events including recruitment and orientation. Responsibilities: Contributes to the development, implementation, administration, coordination, and evaluation for one or more academic programs to ensure effectiveness in meeting departmental and student development goals and initiatives. Strives to create a welcoming, equitable, and inclusive work environment. 30% Utilizes independent judgement regarding development, implementation, promotion, and evaluation for one or more academic programs, initiatives, or events 20% Identifies program, needs, contributes to the development of unit workflows, schedules logistics and secures resources for meetings, events, and interviews 15% Coordinates program components and evaluates program effectiveness and provides recommendations for improvement 15% May supervise the day to day activities of one or more academic programs and resolves issues exercising discretion to meet unit goals. 10% Maintains CME requirements for academic grand rounds program 5% Coordinates pathology educational rotators 5% Develops and maintains expertise in electronic educational systems and tools Institutional Statement on Diversity: Diversity is a source of strength, creativity, and innovation for UW-Madison.
