As a Production Assembler you will perform a variety of production functions on various types of small machines in order to create a product according to specifications. Position is typically located in a soft assembly environment - sewing, sealing, gluing, assembling, etc.
Essential Functions:
Assemble material together and manufacture parts by using small machines. Perform daily routine maintenance on machines. Ensure machines have required material according to production specifications. Verify tolerances are correct and product meets required specifications according to blueprints or process instructions. Initiate standard repairs and reinforcements on products as needed. Inspect product for defects during various stages of production. Participate in production improvement initiatives. Maintain applicable records. Demonstrates Aerostars Guiding Principles. Maintain a clean and safe work area. Follow established safety and ergonomic standards. May be called upon to perform comparable duties of a similar or related nature and/or assist in other areas as needed. Learning, understanding, continuously improving, and promoting the divisions quality management system in accordance with ISO standards.
Education and Experience
High school diploma or equivalent. Previous production experience is preferred, but not required.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Team player who is self-motivated and has ability to work with minimal supervision. Ability to work at a fast pace efficiently. Ability to read blueprints and work instructions and maintain accurate records. Basic computer skills necessary. Ability to communicate effectively with team members and leadership staff.
Physical Requirements and Working Conditions
Physical Requirements: Jobs will be performed while sitting or standing. Frequent lifting and moving of lightweight materials, occasionally in difficult work positions. Occasional lifting of items not to exceed 50 pounds.
Working Conditions: A production environment, including exposure to noise, fumes, moving machinery, and varied temperatures.
