This is a job for a [Avionics/Electronics Technician I position with a company located in the Madison, MS area.

The Avionics/Electronics Technician I is responsible for inspecting, troubleshooting, and repairing of basic electronics equipment, Aircraft Generators & Blowers down to the component level. The technician should be capable of reading manuals, technical drawings, and schematics to include modifications to circuit boards, generators, and blowers. The technician should also be familiar with the use of common test equipment used in avionics and electrical shop environments.

Job Responsibilities: Performs basic to intermediate skilled technician work that involves diagnosis, replacement, repair, and rebuilding of a variety of equipment, components and/or systems. Has basic knowledge of electrical and mechanical devices such as small electrical motors and actuators, mechanical and pneumatic valves, and AC/DC lighting systems (Computer hardware, circuit boards, microchips, and basic programming for our avionics section). Has the ability to accomplish basic soldering and wiring tasks (circuit board repair such as surface mount and through-hole soldering for our avionics section) and has a good understanding of corrosion control methods and remedies. Uses diagnostic equipment and a variety of tools specific to the trade. Has the ability to use common hand tools and precision measuring equipment such as micrometers, depth gages, flow meters, pressure gauges, etc. Applies principles and practices of electrical and electronics theory. Interprets and follows technical manuals, blueprints, mechanical drawings, and schematics. Follows industry/government-specific guidelines, particularly as they relate to safety, health, and environmental practices. Makes computer entries and completes various types of paperwork maintenance documents such as Service Reports and 8130-3's in accordance with FAA Regulations and company policies.

Basic Qualifications: High School Diploma and 2 Year Electronic Degree or HS Diploma and 1 - 2 years of demonstrated relevant experience. Competency in repairing electronic circuit testing, troubleshooting, and manufacturing at the component level. Ability to follow and read work instructions, prints, schematics, drawings, etc. Strong technical computer system (hardware & software) knowledge. Hands-on problem-solving style. Strong verbal communication and writing skills. Self-motivated and self-directed, requiring minimal oversight to meet objectives and timelines. Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools.
