Adecco is looking for a Tool & Cutter Grinder who is responsible for setting up and operating various grinding machines, including external, internal, and surface grinders. The role involves grinding metal workpieces, such as machine parts, dies, or tools, based on a thorough understanding of grinding techniques and procedures. Essential Functions

• Review blueprints or layouts to plan and visualize the grinding process and determine the sequence of operations.

• Select and mount the appropriate grinding wheel, applying knowledge of abrasives and metal properties.

• Determine and set feed rates, grinding speeds, depth of cuts, and choose the size, shape, and grade of the grinding wheel for each job.

• Adjust stops to control the movement of the workpiece or grinding wheel.

• Operate controls to position the wheel and workpiece, setting the feed, speed, and depth of cut.

• Measure and verify the dimensions of finished workpieces to ensure they meet specifications.

• Specialized experience with specific materials, products, precision levels, or particular machines may be required.

Required

• High School Diploma or equivalent (GED)

• 2 years of relevant experience

Preferred

• Associate’s Degree in Machine Tool & Technology

• 4 years of relevant experience

Physical Requirements

The physical demands for this position typically involve medium work, requiring the exertion of 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, 10 to 25 pounds frequently, or a small amount of force (up to 10 pounds) consistently.

Frequent physical activities (1/3 to 2/3 of the time):

• Reaching with hands and arms

• Handling objects by grasping, holding, or turning

• Speaking to communicate information

• Hearing sounds to interpret their meaning

• Distinguishing colors

Occasional physical activities (up to 1/3 of the time):

• Stooping, kneeling, or crouching

• Working with fingers for tasks that require precision

• Adjusting vision for detailed focus

Pay Details: $18.00 per hour
