Amazon Senior Technical Program Manager, GFP Analytics in Luxembourg, Luxembourg

Description

Have you ever ordered a product on Amazon, and when that box with the smile arrived you wondered how it got to you so fast? If so, the Global Fleet & Products Analytics team might be for you. We provide the data insights that help manage our fleet of tens of thousands of delivery vans and trucks - one of the largest and most admired parcel carriers in the world. And as part of Amazon’s Climate Pledge, we’re helping lead the ”charge“ to build the world’s largest fleet of electric delivery vans.

We’re seeking a Senior Technical Program Manager to lead and drive organization-wide analytic initiatives and programs. The ideal candidate will possess a strong program management background, will have demonstrated experience leading medium-to-large projects across multiple teams and external partners, and will have a well-rounded technical background in business intelligence and data analytics.

You must be able to thrive and succeed in an entrepreneurial environment, and not be hindered by ambiguity or competing priorities. You are able to develop and drive high-level strategic initiatives, but can also roll up your sleeves, dig in and get the job done. As a TPM, you will anticipate bottlenecks, provide escalation management, anticipate and make tradeoffs, and balance the business needs versus technical constraints. An ability to take large, complex projects and break them down into manageable pieces, develop functional specifications, then deliver them in a successful and timely manner is expected. Maturity, high judgment, negotiation skills, ability to influence, analytical talent, and leadership are essential to success in this role. This is a high visibility role with lots of room for growth across the Global Fleet & Products organization.

Key job responsibilities

  • Work cross-functionally with customers, internal/external data providers, data engineering teams, BI teams, and other stakeholders to understand their needs and priorities

  • Design, influence, and drive operational best practices for data governance, data standardization, data quality, data management, and analytics to enable the team to scale as we grow

  • Define creative, high quality, and clear program roadmaps based on data, customer needs, team strategy, and vision

  • Develop and write detailed, crisp business requirements and user stories that can be used to create product specifications and architecture for each product and application

  • Create buy-in for your program vision both internally and across key partners

  • Proactively identify and resolve issues that may impair the team’s ability to meet strategic, financial, and technical goals - you are exceptional at unblocking people and teams to perform at their best

  • Develop and write best practice wikis, internal team progress reports (“flashes”), and operational plans
