Amazon Finance Manager, Amazon Devices in Luxembourg, Luxembourg

Description

Amazon seeks a Finance Manager to join the International Devices Finance team. Over the past decade Amazon has developed a number of leading, innovative, and fast-growing devices, including the Kindle eReader, Fire Tablets, Fire TV, and the Amazon Echo. The ideal candidate should be an innovative thinker who wants to work in a start-up like environment. The role will focus on business partnership for International 3PTV and own cross-functional projects for International Devices.

As a Finance Business Partner, you will play a significant role in the launch of new products, pricing & promotional activities, Customer engagement initiatives, financial planning/analysis and driving cost reduction initiatives. You will also play a significant role in building reports with senior stakeholder visibility, automating tools and raising the bar on controllership.

The successful candidate will have a passion for providing data-based decision making. You constantly look for areas of improvement, and implement automated solutions in order to reduce your manual work load to focus on delivering insights into the business.

Key job responsibilities

  • Analyze opportunities and develop financial models for strategies and business plans to grow the Device business

  • Develop key metrics and performance indicators to measure overall financial performance and provide foundation for continuous improvement

  • Own the coordination of various financial processes, including month-end close, forecasting, weekly & monthly business reviews and others for Amazon Devices

  • Partner with the Device product line business teams on key strategic initiatives and operational excellence

Basic Qualifications

  • Experience in multiple finance and accounting roles

  • Experience in building financial and operational reports/data sets that inform business decision-making

  • Experience in creating process improvements with automation and analysis

  • Experience participating in continuous improvement projects in your team to scale and improve controllership with measurable results

  • Experience in Excel (macros, index, conditional list, arrays, pivots, lookups)

Preferred Qualifications

  • Knowledge of SQL/ETL

  • Experience in identifying incomplete or inaccurate data, identifying the root cause and creating/implementing an escalation plan

  • Experience in solving complex business challenges by delivering accurate and timely financial models, analysis, and recommendations that have a proven impact on business (e.g., financial savings, operational improvements, or customer benefits)

  • Experience working with large-scale data mining and reporting tools (examples: SQL, MS Access, Essbase, Cognos) and other financial systems (examples: Oracle, SAP, Lawson, JD Edwards)
