ACCOUNTABILITIES & RESPONSIBILITY AREAS
Preparation of monthly management accounts to agreed timelines, including balance sheet reconciliations and variance commentary/analysis
Bi-annual fixed asset verification
Assist with annual budgeting process
Perform month end close activities related to cost & financial accounting
Carry out financial analysis and investigation on costs to improve performance and support new opportunities
Assist with annual financial audits ensuring sign off of audited financial statements within specified timelines audits
Filing of all monthly, quarterly and annual tax returns
Ensuring tax queries and audits from The Revenue Authority are handled with zero exposure to the company
Monthly inter-company confirmations and reconciliation of any differences in timely manner
Ensure the proper recording of transactions and disclosures in line with company’s accounting policies
Co-ordinating of cyclical and year end stock counts
EDUCATION, SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS
Full CIMA, ACCA, ACA or equivalent professional qualification
Must be a paid-up member of the Zambia Institute of Chartered Accountants (ZICA)
At least 7 years’ experience of which 3 must have been spent in audit in an accounting firm
Financial & management accounting experience including budgeting, forecasting and reporting.
Knowledge of International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS)
Strong analytical skills to identify, assess and explain performance variances from budget/forecast
A knack to develop or change processes to improve efficiency
Management experience advantageous
Commercially aware
Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and a methodical approach in the execution of duties
Private sector mindset and confidence in dealing with a multi-cultural business environment
Proficiency in SAP Business One is an added advantage
Working Hours:
M - F: 07:00 - 16:00
Alternate Saturdays: 09:00 - 13:00
