Job Summary

The Program Manager, Grand Beginnings, will be the primary contact for prospective maternity patients, as well as responsible for overseeing the operation of the program. The representative will also assist Family Practice and Obstetrics/Gynecology physicians with establishing, maintaining, and marketing their practice by increasing physician awareness and utilization of hospital product lines.

Reports to: Jill Shanklin MSN, RNC-OB (Vice President Nursing Excellence, Maternal-Child Service Line)

Job Specific Responsibilities

Daily assignments may include but are not limited to:

Participates in staff management (Lactation employees and contracted doulas), which includes but is not limited to hiring, coaching, training, evaluations, employee engagement, disciplinary actions, termination of employment, and payroll

Promote and market Grand Beginnings program

Coordinate preadmissions, insurance verifications, and conduct tours through Family Birth Center and Family Care Unit.

Organize and schedule all pre-delivery childbirth classes offered at UMC Health System for clients and families. This includes but is not limited to arrangement of space, supplies, and educators for class

Annual visit to Physician offices to identify, evaluate, and strategically address needs

Monitor and resolve Physician concerns

All other related duties assigned

Education and Experience

Bachelor's degree

+3 years of Prenatal Programming, Healthcare Community Service, or related experience

+3 years of leadership experience, leading diverse teams of people and processes * *

**If Nurse:

Must meet and maintain nursing qualifications as outlined by the State of Texas Board of Nursing ** Required Licensures/Certifications/Registrations Certified Lactation Counselor BLS- Basic Life Support Certification

Skills and Abilities Excellent communication and listening skills Organized and able to handle multiple projects simultaneously Highly developed sense of ethics to handle confidential patient and physician information Ability to drive to visit medical staff offices

Interaction with Other Departments and Other Relationships This position requires interaction with both internal hospital staff in various departments, external clinical partners, vendors, and at times, local, state, and national entities that provide resources for care ** Physical Capabilities This role requires a variety of walking and standing for extended periods of time. Visual and auditory acuity is required. Work occasionally requires lifting and carrying items up to 25 pounds
