Perform and analyze payroll and tax functions according to established policies and procedures. This title is reserved for use in Payroll and Tax Services.

Major/Essential Functions:

  • Ability to prepare, analyze, and review documents related to payroll processing, leave reporting, benefits deductions, tax withholding, and reconciliations.

  • Adhere to strict deadlines, follow institutional policy, and/or federal and state regulations.

  • Ability to promptly respond to requests for assistance and provide information in a kind and courteous manner.

  • Maintain departmental procedures in an established electronic format.

  • Ability to manage time in a fast-paced environment with expectations to complete assigned tasks as well as develop knowledge of departmental processes. This includes assuming additional duties to meet deadlines.

  • Ability to work with a team to complete assigned tasks and projects.

Preferred Qualifications:

Knowledge and efficiency with Microsoft Outlook, Excel, and Word. A communication style that can adapt to various knowledge levels of the intended audience. Accounting or finance degree.

Payroll & Tax Services is seeking a detail-oriented individual to join a great team that operates as a shared service for all Texas Tech University institutions. The department facilitates payroll and tax payments and associated reporting while ensuring compliance with internal policy and external regulations.
