Education/Certification Requirements:

Bachelor's degree in related discipline from four-year college or university; or three years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Relevant technical certifications desired but not required.

Job Duties:

Under close supervision, this position coordinates and organizes computer network activities by performing the following duties.

  • Manages network technical resources including overall network performance, hard drive capacity, and network printing.
  • Establishes and maintains network users, user environment, directories, and security.
  • Monitors and administers the network, keeping system information up-to-date in a network log.
  • Installs, configures, and upgrades computer hardware, print devices, and software as required.
  • Performs network troubleshooting to isolate and diagnose common network problems.
  • Assists with routine backup, restoring, and archiving of all network data.
  • Stays abreast of evolving technology by researching trade journals and technical publications.
  • Assists with analyzing requirements and purchasing software and hardware equipment.
  • Provides users with network technical support and training as needed.
