Summary
Plans, assigns, and supervises the work of employees engaged in set-up, operations, and cleaning of Civic Center and Auditorium/Coliseum.
Essential Functions
- Plan, assign, and supervise the work of employees engaged in set-up, operation, and cleaning of Civic Center and Auditorium/Coliseum;
- Interview, select, train, evaluate, and discipline employees;
- Prepare work schedules and assign work to employees;
- Inspect work in progress and upon completion;
- Maintain inventory of equipment including tables, chairs, and portable staging;
- Supervise proper storage and maintenance of equipment;
- Identify equipment to be cleaned or repaired;
- Consult with others regarding event set-up needs;
- Performrelated duties as directed.
Qualifications
Completion of a high school diploma or the equivalent with an additional one to three years experience in custodial work or building operations; or any combination of relevant education and experience which provides the following:
Valid Current Driver's License
Physical Exam Required
Knowledge and Abilities
Knowledge of:
- Operations and equipment to set-up and arrange facilities for banquets, meetings, conventions, etc.;
- Techniques used in custodial work.
Ability to:
- Supervise the work of others;
- Follow written and oral instructions;
- Communicate effectively with others.

- Continuously stand and walk.
- Occasionally bend and kneel.
- Occasionally climb stairs, ladders, scaffolding, and other inclined surfaces.
- Frequently lift up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift up to 50 pounds.
- Frequently carry up to 25 pounds and occasionally carry up to 50 pounds.
- Frequently push or pull objects.
- Frequently flex upper trunk forward and partially at the knees.
- Frequently rotate upper trunk forward to right or left while sitting or standing.
- Frequently reach above, at, or below shoulder height.
- Frequently drive equipment.
