This position will be joining a strong team of 22 Physician Faculty members, 3 PhD Faculty members and 4 Nurse Practitioners.

Contributes to the university’s mission through teaching, research and service, some variation by academic unit.

Major/Essential Functions:

  • Provide Primary Behavioral Health Services to Family Medicine and Student Health Services patients.

  • Provide psychological evaluations for ADHD and other mental and behavioral health issues.

  • Serve on the Student Health Leadership Team.

  • Serve as the Director of Mental Health Services at Student Health including supervision of the Mental Health Team at Student Health.

  • Serve on committees relating to mental health at both Texas Tech University and Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Five years experience working with patients in an integrated primary care setting.

  • Experience working as a primary care behavioral health consultant.

  • Experience teaching in an academic medical setting.

  • Experience in program evaluation and quality improvement.

  • Experience working with individuals with substance abuse disorders.

  • Certification in biofeedback equipment, techniques and procedures.

Required Qualifications:

  • Doctoral degree in psychology from an accredited college, university or school of professional psychology.(An applicant whose doctoral degree was received before January 1, 1979 must have received either a doctoral degree in psychology, or the substantial equivalent of a doctoral degree in both subject matter and extent of training, from a regionally accredited educational institution.)

  • Three years experience working with patients experiencing chronic pain conditions.

  • Licensed to practice Psychology in Texas by the Texas State Board of Examiners of Psychologists.

  • Graduate program and internship program must be accredited by the American Psychological Association.

  • Direct experience working with both children and adults.
