Hub International Commercial Lines Account Manager in Lower Sackville, Nova Scotia

About The Role

HUB Atlantic is currently looking for a strong Account Manager working in close partnership with their assigned Account Team on Commercial Lines clients. This role is focused on the growth and retention of a book of mid-sized businesses across Atlantic Canada and on driving new commercial business.

This role involves interaction with diverse stakeholders including customers, finance, and other Account Managers. This is a great hands-on role for insurance and leadership exposure.

What You’ll Do

  • Continuously delivering quality client service to retain and grow existing commercial portfolios

  • Developing and nurturing client relationships by researching and analyzing client coverage trends and identifying areas of risk and opportunities and solutions

  • Act as escalation for any unresolved outstanding client premiums

  • Account business planning and forecasting

  • Coaching and mentoring Account Team

  • Establish networks and partnerships in the commercial lines insurance space

  • Providing suggestions for continuous improvements in workflows and procedures for sales and service

  • Monitoring client accounts receivable statements, and collecting outstanding premium owing;

  • Building relationships with sub-brokers across Canada and writing business in the industries and programs that we develop

What You’ll Need for Success

  • Appropriate P&C Insurance License for the coverages being discussed

  • Typically, 3+ years of Insurance Industry experience in all aspects of Commercial Property and Casualty Insurance required

  • Sound knowledge of commercial lines insurance terminology, landscape & insurer portals

  • Knowledge of diverse insurance policies and emerging insurance trends

  • Experience delivering client-focused solutions based on customer needs

  • Professional communication, and strong interpersonal skills

  • Self-starter and strong team player able to work within Production and Service teams

  • Effective organizational skills and time management

  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Products (Word and Excel).

  • Ability to learn and understand new systems quickly; EPIC fluency is an asset.

  • Bilingual (French/English) is an asset
