The US Tax Manager will play a crucial role in ensuring compliance with federal and state tax regulations, optimizing tax strategies, and providing expert guidance on tax-related matters.Main ResponsibilitiesTax Compliance:- Manage and oversee the preparation and filing of federal, state, and local income tax returns.- Manage and oversee the preparation and filing of US sales and use tax returns.- Ensure timely and accurate compliance with all tax laws and regulations.- Work with our external advisors where tax compliance processes have been out-sourced.Tax Planning and Strategy:- Develop and implement tax strategies to optimize the company's tax position.- Identify opportunities for tax savings and risk mitigation.- Provide expert advice on tax implications of business decisions and transactions.Financial Reporting:- Collaborate with finance and accounting teams to ensure accurate tax accounting and financial reporting.- Assist in the preparation of tax provisions and related financial statement disclosures.Audit and Controversy:- Manage tax audits and examinations by federal, state, and local tax authorities.- Resolve tax-related inquiries and disputes in a timely and efficient manner.Compliance Monitoring:- Stay current with changes in tax laws and regulations, and ensure the company's compliance.- Develop and maintain internal controls and processes to support tax compliance.Qualifications- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA certification preferred.- Minimum of 5-7 years of progressive experience in corporate tax, including significant exposure to federal and state tax compliance and planning.- Strong understanding of US tax laws and regulations.- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.- Effective communication and interpersonal skills.- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.- Experience with tax software and financial systems.Additional Information"Wood Mackenzie is a place where we are committed to supporting our people to grow and thrive.
