The successful candidate will report to Manufacturing Engineering as part of the Project Engineering (PE) at the Raytheon facility in Louisville. PE functions include manufacturing support of the Navy and Marine Corps Expeditionary Ship Interdiction System (NMESIS) programs in Louisville.

This role will involve interacting with Program and Leadership Teams to ensure successful integration of new business as well as support of existing efforts. This position is for 1st shift; however, some projects may require the candidate to work extended shifts, including weekend and holiday coverage as necessary throughout the year. This position requires direct support of manufacturing activities and spending nearly 100% of daily time in the factory areas.

What You Will Do

  • Applying manufacturing engineering skillsets across the extended value stream to resolve constraints and improve process and product designs

  • Leverage knowledge and technical skills to influence business decisions and results from new designs to recurring production

  • Design, control, and improve the producibility of products through collaboration with a multi-disciplined team

  • Lead and coordinate projects, efforts and improvements across the extended value streams

  • Act as the manufacturing and producibility authority within the program

  • Identify and resolve constraints across the program

  • Participate in corrective action investigation

  • Provide technical input and peer review to engineering design changes

  • Provide technical guidance and problem solving to factory engineers

  • An advanced degree in a related field may be substituted for 2 additional years of experience.

    Qualifications You Must Have

  • Typically requires a Bachelor’s and a minimum of 5 years prior relevant experience, or an Advance Degree in a related field and a minimum of 3 years’ experience.

  • Ability to obtain and maintain a US security clearance. U.S. citizenship is required as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance

    Qualifications We Prefer

  • Experience interpreting and improving technical drawings

  • Experience communicating technical information to different audiences

  • Experience with technical writing

  • Experience with MRP systems

  • Experience teaching, training and/or mentoring manufacturing systems to junior engineers

  • Ability to identify, reduce and eliminate cost, quality and schedule constraints through technical engagements

  • Understand and utilize factory and program performance data

  • Ability to work or lead in groups and cross functional teams

  • Strong project management skills (MPS, IMS, RAILs, etc) with ability to drive action and urgency.

  • Lean manufacturing skills and understanding of factory layout/flow, continuous improvement process, and value stream analysis.

  • Participate with program and/or LT teams to provide perspective for successful program planning, organization and execution.

  • Determine resource requirements, including operations and engineering labor, expense, space/facility and production capital equipment to support expansion.

  • Tight timeline and need to move out ASAP.

  • This person will coordinate between facilities for infrastructure changes and supply chain for purchase of tooling, TE etc.

  • This person will work with production to plan the installation of capital equipment (all of the items which would impact production need to be done during planned production gaps)

  • Coordinate with the Raytheon functionals.

  • Provide real time support for product, equipment, and training issues related to the assigned product line(s).

  • This person will manage the Program funds and ensure all tasks are on budget.

Onsite: Employees who are working in Onsite roles will work primarily onsite. This includes all production and maintenance employees, as they are essential to the development of our products.

The salary range for this role is 77,000 USD - 163,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.

Hired applicants may be eligible for annual short-term and/or long-term incentive compensation programs depending on the level of the position and whether or not it is covered by a collective-bargaining agreement. Payments under these annual programs are not guaranteed and are dependent upon a variety of factors including, but not limited to, individual performance, business unit performance, and/or the company’s performance.

This role is a U.S.-based role. If the successful candidate resides in a U.S. territory, the appropriate pay structure and benefits will apply.
