Southern Graphic Systems Production Supervisor in Louisville, Kentucky

Position Summary

The Production Supervisor oversees day-to-day production operations as well as understands and adheres to all state and federal Environmental Health & Safety (EH&S) policies.

Essential Responsibilities

  • Supervise production personnel and participate in other staffing-related activities as needed.
  • Provide ongoing performance management to direct reports and foster a learning environment.
  • Address and effectively resolve personnel or departmental issues in a timely/professional manner.
  • Conduct annual performance reviews.
  • Approve and manage overtime of production personnel.
  • Review and analyze various reports related to staffing as needed.
  • Prepare and lead team meetings as needed.
  • Oversee the routing of jobs within a team environment.
  • Provide input to senior management and Account Managers relative to meeting customer expectations for timing and delivery.
  • Investigate and address quality issues.
  • Participate in development and maintenance of standard operating procedures (SOP).
  • Liaise between various departments and stakeholders, including Prepress, Manufacturing, Sales, and Account and Project Managers.
  • Participate in decisions regarding location operations, staffing, company policies, etc.
  • Provide technical support for internal and external customers.
  • Manage day-to-day facility operations.
  • Maintain safe and healthy work environment by establishing, following, and enforcing standards and procedures, complying with legal regulations
  • Assist with additional responsibilities as directed by management.

Education, Experience, & Certification Requirements

  • Associate's degree in graphics, print, or color management or equivalent experience in the graphic arts industry
  • Experience/knowledge in flexo platemaking using industry equipment
  • Experience managing personnel, teams, and/or departments
  • Competent in Microsoft Office (e.g., Outlook, Word, Excel, etc.)
  • Mac experience strongly preferred
  • Have/able to obtain CPR certification

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities

  • Knowledge and experience of all print processes and related downstream applications.
  • Understanding of EH&S policies, including training and reporting.
  • Strong attention to detail as well as organizational and documentation skills.
  • Ability to prioritize and multitask.
  • Self-driven and self-motivated.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills and a proven ability to guide and lead others.
  • Ability to research a problem and come to solutions in a timely manner.
  • Comply with all company standards, policies, procedures, and applicable regulations.
  • Willing to take on additional responsibilities as needed.
