Set up and operate injection-molding machines to cast products from thermoplastic materials. Able to properly handle material, molded product and related inventory control. Must have experience and knowledge of proper operation of manufacturing and material handling equipment. This is an exciting opportunity with room for upward mobility.

salary: $41,600 - $45,000 per year

Responsibilities

Position responsibilities:

• Set up and operate plastic injection molding machines

• Observe continuous operation of injection molding machines to ensure that parts meet specifications and to detect any machine malfunctions or product defects, adjusting as necessary.

• Measure and visually inspect products for surface and dimension defects to ensure conformance to specifications.

• Position and secure molds in machines and make all required connections to operate tool safety. Ensure all auxiliary equipment is set to the correct settings per the baselines.

• Removal of tool from molding machine and prepare for next job.

• Maintain best operating parameters (baselines) for tool and make any adjustments required to cycle the tool automatically. Follow proper deviation process if parameters adjusted outside tolerance.

• Observe machine parameters and gauges to verify consistency of temperatures, pressures, and press-cycle times, etc.

• Read specifications, blueprints, and work orders to determine setups, temperatures, and time settings required to mold plastic materials, as well as to plan production sequences.

• Adjust equipment and work piece holding fixtures, to ensure proper functioning.

• Select and install end of arm tooling (EOAT) or other attachments for each operation.

• Optimize process to reduce scrap and improve throughout.

• Perform other duties as assigned

The essential functions of this role include:

• wearing steel toe shoes

• working in a non-temperature controlled environment

• manual lifting up to 50lbs

• standing for 6 hours at one time
