University of Louisville Manager of Communications and Marketing in Louisville, Kentucky
Minimum Requirements:Bachelor's degree in Business, Management, Marketing, Communications or a related field and four (4) years of relevant experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Grade 7 (Salaried)Position Description:The Manager of Communications and Marketing will report directly to the Dean of the Brandeis School of Law to assist in the development, implementation, and promotion of positive communication about the School of Law, its clinics, initiatives, students, faculty, and alumni. The Manager of Communications and Marketing will gather and disseminate information to the news media, develop and implement public relations activities, direct content for digital and social media, and assist in coordinating other communications projects as needed. The Manager of Communications and Marketing is responsible for executing and managing the high-level strategic marketing vision for the Brandeis School of Law and bringing innovative techniques to the position to further our brand.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESBrand, Marketing, and Communication Strategy 50%Lead and execute the development, design, and implementation of the branding strategy and marketing initiatives for Brandeis School of Law.Develop and implement both short-term and long-term marketing strategies to enhance visibility and awareness of the institution.Oversee the management of Brandeis School of Law’s online presence, including the website, registration forms, social media accounts, and any additional web-based projects as they arise, managing staff as needed to ensure project completion.Lead projects supporting the university’s integrated marketing strategy, with a focus on student recruitment and the enhancement of both the university’s and the Brandeis School of Law’s overall image.Supervise and coordinate the work of internal staff and external vendors, including writers, video producers, graphic designers, and photographers.Plan, develop, and execute events, including creating marketing materials and communication plans.Implement the vision of the leadership team to grow, engage, and emphasize our audiences.Write and edit content such as news stories, magazine stories, fact sheets, website stories, social media posts, op-eds, some marketing content, and other content as needed.Write engaging marketing content for prospective students and alumni.Maintain contacts with UofL entities to develop potential content.Work with and manage the School of Law’s Communications Department staff to ensure communication deliverables.Develop and implement effective marketing strategic plans to achieve desired results, on time and within budget.Monitor, measure, and report results of communications activities.Manage and maintain the Communications Department budget.Direct External Communication 30 %Maintain and update the School of Law’s website.Internal Communication 20%PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONSUniversity communications experience.Editorial or op-ed writing experience.Experience with cloud-based media database and measurement systems (such as Cision, Meltwater, etc.).Experience with content management systems (such as Plone, WordPress, etc.).Experience with email marketing and social media marketing.COMPETENCIESProficient in Microsoft Office productivity tools (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Access).Strong written and oral communication skills.Proficient ability in web development and content management.Some familiarity with the Adobe creative suite, InDesign.Able to formally plan and independently manage assigned projects.Ability to use common office machines (i.e., computers, copiers, calculators, cellular phones, etc.).Target Compensation Maximum:$87,300.00Target Compensation Minimum:$58,200.00Compensation will be commensurate to candidate experience.Equal Employment OpportunityThe University of Louisville is an equal opportunity, affirmative action employer, and is committed to providing employment opportunities to all qualified applicants without regard to race, sex, age, color, national origin, ethnicity, creed, religion, disability, genetic information, sexual orientation, gender, gender identity and expression, marital status, pregnancy, or veteran status.
