Your Role Involves:

Governance and Standardization: You will spearhead the development and enforcement of robust governance policies, standards & controls ensuring consistency and reliability across all deployment activities.

Metrics and Insights: Utilize DORA metrics to pinpoint enhancements and manage dashboards that provide deep insights into our DevOps processes and successes while also crafting comprehensive dashboards to track and display DevOps maturity and governance.

Championing DevOps Culture: Promote practices that emphasize agility, speed, and efficiency, collaborating closely with cross-functional teams to integrate security and operations smoothly.

Automate and Optimize: Lead initiatives to streamline our CI/CD pipelines and infrastructure through automation, enhancing the speed and quality of software delivery.

Mentoring Future Leaders: Provide guidance and leadership to a team of skilled DevOps engineers, nurturing a culture of continuous improvement and collaborative success.

Ideal Candidate:

  • Holds a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related fields.

  • Has extensive experience in DevOps, with a strong emphasis on governance and cloud infrastructures.

  • Proficient in major cloud services (AWS, Azure, GCP) and adept with CI/CD methodologies.

  • Possesses strong scripting skills and familiarity with containerization and orchestration technologies.

As a Lead DevOps Engineer at Humana, you will be responsible for establishing and maintaining governance, consistency, and best practices across our deployment pipelines. You will drive the development and implementation of standards, policies, and controls within the DevOps function to ensure streamlined and reliable software delivery. Additionally, you will focus on reporting, particularly on DORA metrics, and will manage and enhance dashboards for visibility into our processes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and enforce governance policies and standards across all deployment pipelines to ensure consistency and efficiency.

  • Drive the DevOps governance adoption, implementing controls to streamline the software delivery process and improve reliability.

  • Establish and monitor DORA (DevOps Research and Assessment) metrics to assess performance and identify areas for improvement.

  • Create, maintain, and enhance dashboards to provide visibility into key performance indicators (KPIs) and operational metrics.

  • Champion a DevOps mindset, promoting agility, speed, and efficiency in the software delivery process.

  • Explore and implement ways to deliver software faster, without compromising on quality or reliability.

  • Collaborate with development, operations, and security teams to ensure alignment with governance policies and best practices.

  • Lead efforts to automate and optimize CI/CD pipelines and infrastructure.

  • Mentor and guide a team of DevOps engineers, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and collaboration.

  • Focus on key DevOps pillars, including continuous integration (CI), continuous delivery (CD), quality, security, compliance, metrics, and reporting.

  • Ensure compliance with security and regulatory requirements throughout the software delivery lifecycle.

  • Use metrics and KPIs to drive performance improvements and transparency within the DevOps function.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, Engineering, or a related field.

  • Proven experience as a DevOps Engineer, with a focus on governance, cloud infrastructure, and automation.

  • Extensive experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP.

  • Strong knowledge of CI/CD tools like Azure DevOps Pipelines and GitHub Actions

  • Proficiency in scripting languages such as Python, Bash, or similar.

  • Experience with containerization and orchestration tools like Docker and Kubernetes.

  • Familiarity with infrastructure as code tools such as Terraform, Ansible, or similar.

  • Excellent problem-solving skills and a proactive attitude.

  • Strong communication and leadership abilities.

Pay Range

The compensation range below reflects a good faith estimate of starting base pay for full time (40 hours per week) employment at the time of posting. The pay range may be higher or lower based on geographic location and individual pay will vary based on demonstrated job related skills, knowledge, experience, education, certifications, etc.$126,800 - $174,500 per yearThis job is eligible for a bonus incentive plan. This incentive opportunity is based upon company and/or individual performance.
