POSITION: Human Resources Director

REPORTS TO: General Manager

FLSA STATUS: Salaried / Exempt

Summary

The Director, Human Resources is responsible for the overall operation of the human resources function for the ASM Global staff at the KFC Yum! Center, Lynn Family Stadium, and the Norton Healthcare Sports & Learning Center. This includes aligning HR strategy with the business objectives of the venue. Related activity includes organizational development, staffing and resources planning, training, employee relations, and payroll automated information systems (HRIS). The Director, Human resources works closely with the management team and their respective functions to ensure common application of human resources initiatives, policies, and practices across all areas of the venue. The Director, Human Resources will manage the receptionist and Manager, Human Resources.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Lead, manage, and support employees at the venues to ensure they are properly equipped to effectively create value for the organization.

  • Oversee training and development for all employees within the organization so that they can effectively meet organizational and professional needs.

  • Identify potential personnel impacts of any proposed business changes to the organization. Influence leadership at all levels of the organization to behave in a manner that is consistent and reflects the organization’s values.

  • Ensure legislative changes and best practices in managing human resources are incorporated in the arena’s strategy and effectively communicate to all managers to confirm compliance.

  • Serve as a liaison between AEG corporate office and local employees to administer corporate benefits, programs, and policies such as benefits, leaves of absences, and workers compensation.

  • Lead recruitment, selection, and hiring processes in accordance with approved procedures to ensure recruitment needs are fulfilled in a timely manner.

  • Process personnel changes and maintain HRIS at a local level, to include new hires, promotions, terminations, and transfers.

  • Manage the performance review and merit increase process annually and as needed.

  • Create and maintain necessary human resource administrative procedures are in place and ensure that adequate and up to date records are maintained.

  • Employ an effective and fair strategic approach to equal opportunities and the recognition of diversity across the organization. Drive opportunities to increase the level of diversity in all areas across the organization.

  • Provide information updates via presentation to the Board of Directors as needed on topics such as diversity and inclusion.

  • Responsible for the integrity, security, and confidentiality of employee data including ensuring compliance of all documents and administering record retention and purging of personnel files.

  • Plan human resources budget and effectively manage and monitor resource allocation.

    Education and/or Experience

  • A minimum education level of: High School Diploma or its equivalency (BA/BS Degree Preferred)

  • Business Administration, Human Resources, or related field

  • A minimum of 5 years of progressive HR experience

  • Strong business acumen with ability to serve as a change agent.

  • Experience with automated payroll and HRIS

  • Must process excellent organizational, planning, leadership, written, and verbal communication skills.
