Minimum Requirements:Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business or related field or equivalent combination of education and work experience. One year of experience in leave program administration. Grade 4NPosition Description:JOB SUMMARY The Benefits Specialist I (Leave Coordinator) reports to the Assistant Director Total Rewards in the Department of Human Resources at the University of Louisville. This position is responsible for the administration of all aspects of the University of Louisville's leave of absence program(s) to ensure compliance with federal and state laws and regulations. Position is located on the Belknap Campus with a hybrid/remote work arrangement with 3 days per week in office. Position will be posted until filled. Applications received by May 6, 2024 will be given full consideration.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESDetermines employee eligibility, requests and obtains completed certification and re-certification, and provides required notices.Administers the University of Louisville's leave programs (vacation, sick, FML, temporary medical leave) in compliance with University policies and applicable laws and regulations.Responds to employee questions and assist employees in completing and submitting required paperwork to begin the leave process. Request and obtain completed certifications and re-certifications.Provide required notices as required under FMLA outlining status or group benefit coverage, other rights and obligations and requirements to return to work. Communicate with employees and managers regarding leave designation and status.Works with other internal departments (e.g., payroll) to ensure accurate recordkeeping and payments to employees.
